The OpenGL Game Engine Development series will show you how to create a First Person Shooter (FPS) game engine. The
engine is built using OpenGL but has been designed so that DirectX support can be added in later. Topics covered
include windows management, game timing, scene management, 3D model loading, graphical user interfaces and working
in 3D. A simplified flow chart of the game engine is shown here.
The complete series with BONUS videos is available for purchase on here. Total Running Time : 45 hrs 57 min Size: 2,614 MB ( 140 VMK Files)
This game can be downloaded from here. The Ghost Toast series takes you through the entire game design process of creating a FPS game on paper and then building it inside Visual C++ 2005. I use
the OpenGL Game Engine (which can be purchased from the store) as the starting point for this project. All 2D textures and 3D models used in the game will
be given to you as you progress through the videos but feel free to customize the game to your own needs as you see fit. Learn to take your imagination
and turn it into reality! Total Running Time : 29 hrs 1 min Size: 1,919 MB ( 108 VMK Files)
This Physics Engine series shows you how to add physics to a game engine. These VMKs build on top of the OpenGL Game
Engine which has its own series of VMKs. Topics covered include real-time game timing, simulating gravity, wind,
directional forces, friction and rubber surfaces. Collision detection and collision response will also be covered.
If you have not completed the OpenGL Game Engine series but would like to start right away with the Physics Engine series,
you can get the complete OpenGL Game Engine Source code here. Total Running Time : 11 hrs 42 min Size: 565 MB ( 40 VMK Files)
The OpenGL Tips & Tricks series of VMKs use the OpenGL Game Engine to present different tips and tricks that you can use when creating your own computer games. Total Running Time : 1 hr 10 min Size: 165 MB ( 7 VMK Files)
The Mathematics series of VMK's cover topics mainly in Algebra and Geometry, with a little bit of Calculus here and there. Total Running Time : 1 hr 53 min Size: 115 MB ( 10 VMK Files)
The Introduction to C++ series of VMK's cover topics related to C++ programming. If you want to know how to do something using C++, just send me
an email message and I'll make a VMK for you. Total Running Time : 6 hrs 28 min Size: 201 MB ( 20 VMK Files)
Caligari Corporation owns a 3D modeling software application called trueSpace. The VMK's in this section
show you how to get familiar with the software's user interface so that you can create 3D models, apply materials
to your models and even texture them. Total Running Time : 1 hr 50 min Size: 126 MB ( 9 VMK Files)
AutoCAD is a software program used to create mechanical drawings. These tutorials show a few
tips and tricks you can use when making drawings. Total Running Time : 44 min Size: 39 MB ( 2 VMK Files)
Q: How do I use this website?
A: This video will show you how to download videos, extract VMK and explain how download slots, quota, locks and keys work.
Q: How many files can I download?
A: The total number of files that you can download at a time are determined by how many download slots you have available. indicates an available slot. indicates an unavailable slot. indicates an available slot you paid for.
If you place your cursor over the red indicator, a tool tip will pop up showing you when this slot will become available.
Q: How do I download a VMK if it has a lock on it?
A: If you purchase a membership from the store the VMK file will become unlocked. If you do not have a membership
you will need to get a key to unlock the file. For every $3.00 you spend in the store
you will earn one key. The number of keys that you have is shown here.
Q: Why are there restrictions on the number of files that I can download?
Encourage members to work through the VMK's rather than download them all and never look at them
Give members some time for the lessons to absorb into their minds
Give members time to come up with questions about the VMK's that they just watched
To reduce bandwidth used by users who do not have a membership
Q: What is a quota limit?
A: Each user is able to download 300 MB of files from the website. After reaching
the limit you will only be able to download free VMK's (ones that don't require a download slot) unless you purchase more quota or single use download slots from the store.
To view how much of your quota you have used up look over here.
Q: I can't download a specific VMK. What does Missing Req mean?
A: Certain VMK's need to be downloaded in a specific order. For example, to download VMK 3b you are required
to first download VMK 3a. The required VMK is NOT always the next VMK in the list. Requirements are listed for each VMK beside this icon:
Q: Are the VMK files compressed?
A: Yes they are. Some video files are encoded using the Flash SWF file format, others are encoded using Xvid. Additionally, each video file is then
compressed using WinRAR to further reduce its size. To open an RAR file, use the WinRAR
software provided by win-rar.com. If you are having trouble playing any of the AVI files, make sure you have the Xvid codec installed on your computer.
You can also try using the VideoLAN video player.
Q: I downloaded a VMK file but it is corrupted. What can I do?
A: First, DO NOT try to download a different VMK. The website database has recorded which VMK file you downloaded last. You can
download only the last VMK that you downloaded multiple times without needing to use more than one slot. Some internet service providers
will automatically disconnect from the website before the VMK is fully downloaded to your computer and that would cause the file to be
corrupted. Try again (make sure you have no download managers running) until you are able to get the file. If you have
a weekly membership you can download any VMK file that you have previously downloaded without having to use a new slot. If you are
experiencing audio problems during playback, read this for help.
Q: What is Shipping and Handling?
A: The Shipping and Handling fee is only added to the price of items that are physically shipped to you. The fee covers the cost of producing the content
(watermarking, registering software, burning DVD), packaging (printing, plastic case, bubble wrap, envelope) and the actual postage to mail the product to you.
